Incident Notification
Submitted
Hello,
I’m not sure if this is already possible, but I wanted to suggest a notification feature. It would be very helpful to have email (or other types of) alerts triggered when an incident status changes, with the ability to notify specific users.
For example, across our schools we use several incident statuses as part of our workflow:
“Waiting for Pickup” – the device is ready in a designated area for us to collect
“In Progress” – we are actively working on the device
Additional statuses depending on the stage of repair
“Sending to Building” – the device is completed and being returned
Having automated notifications tied to these status changes would help keep everyone informed throughout the repair process. It would also allow us to respond more quickly when devices are ready for pickup or require attention.
In addition to email, it would be great to support other alerting methods as well—similar to how infrastructure status alerts can be sent to platforms like Discord or Google Chat. This would give teams more flexibility in how they receive and respond to updates.
Beyond keeping staff informed, this could also be used to notify students directly—for example, sending an email or other alert when their device is ready for pickup.
Overall, this kind of visibility would improve communication between teams and help streamline our repair workflow.
