Warehouse Custom Storage Locations
Submitted
Extend the existing warehouse feature with a configurable, hierarchical sub-location structure — zone, aisle, bay/rack, shelf, bin/slot — so assets can be tracked to a precise physical position within a warehouse.
Problem? Warehouse come in all shapes and sizes, some more organized than others.
Hierarchy levels
-Warehouse, Zone, Aisle, Bay/Rack, Shelf, Bin/Slot/Space
Location identifiers
-alphanumeric codes (e.g., A-12-3-B) plus optional friendly names
Barcode/QR support
Capacity attributes
-optional max-count, dimensions, or weight per location
Assignment parity
allow an asset's "assigned to" value to be a specific bin the same way it can currently be a user, room, or cart. Include in assignment history
Cycle counting
-typical cycle counting to correct discrepancies. option to lock parts of the warehouse to prevent moves during cycle counts.
Widget/reporting for the dashboard to see whats in the warehouse, customizable (e.g., 500 laptops in warehouse A)
