Device Changes

When trying to make changes and update for Insurance and warranty info. Is there a template or way to make device updates that does not require the model and Building etc? For instance. We had a change in our insurance and I wanted to put in the asset number, Insured, Warranty on the template and upload. Each time it asks for the model, building, etc.
