Device checkout by period report

Would it be possible to add a report that can show all devices checked in during a given date range or devices checked out for a date range? Perhaps it can just be an audit log showing activity that can be filtered down by the type of activity (checked in, checked out, other), location, and/or other search criteria. This would allow us to see how many devices we've checked in or checked out in a given day/week, which is helpful during a distribution or collection window.
