Restriction Plan Enchantment

We currently use the **Restriction Plan** to document any restrictions requested for a student by parents, staff, administrators, or others. We typically record what the restriction is, who requested it, and the date it was requested.

One issue we run into is when students transition between buildings, particularly when 8th-grade students move from the Middle School to 9th grade at the High School. Their existing restrictions carry over, but those restrictions may no longer be necessary or appropriate at the new building.

It would be helpful to have a better way to review these restrictions annually without having to manually pull a report. For example, the system could send an annual reminder or report to the appropriate administrator listing which students have restrictions, what the restrictions are, who requested them, and when they were added. Ideally, there would also be a way to mark each restriction as **reviewed for the current school year**, so we can easily verify that older restrictions are still needed.

It would also be helpful to have more control over the Restriction Plan fields instead of relying on one large text box. Custom or predefined fields such as **Requested By, Date Requested, Restriction Type, Reason, and Status** would make the information much easier to manage and report on. A dropdown for common restrictions, such as **CICO (Check-In/Check-Out)**, would also be useful.

For notifications and annual reviews, we would need some flexibility in determining who receives them. For example, our High School divides grade levels among different Deans/APs, so it would be helpful to route notifications based on a student's grade level.

It would also be beneficial to notify staff who need to review restrictions but do not necessarily have access to manage them in the system. This would allow administrators to review the information without requiring them to remember another program or workflow. They could simply provide any necessary changes to the staff responsible for managing the restrictions.

Overall, the goal would be to make student restrictions easier to **document, review annually, report on, and route to the appropriate staff**, especially as students transition between buildings and grade levels.
